DACCO’s High-Impact Prevention program seeks to address the disproportionate impact of HIV among the local African-American population. Focus areas for services include high-risk youth, heterosexuals and MSM (men who have sex with men).
*Provide outreach, education, HIV testing and linkage services to African American individuals in Hillsborough County
*Conduct outreach in community settings in order to engage the African-American Community including neighborhood clinics, healthcare providers, health departments, residential areas as well as various non-traditional settings.
*Conduct HIV Pre/Post test counseling services
*Coordinate HIV prevention-related marketing activities including (social media and mass media)
*Conduct evidence-based practices targeting high risk individuals, as well as those recently diagnosed with HIV, to prevent new infections and link to care.
*Recruit and guide Peer Navigators to facilitate link services for HIV+ individuals new to the system of care.
*Meet established monthly goals for the position
*Maintain documentation in accordance with State contract standards.
|Qualifications:||*BA required, Masters Preferred (Background in Public Health and/or Social Work ideal)|
*Computer skills required
*Local travel required, reliable transportation is required
*Previous experience with community outreach, HIV services, substance abuse, a plus
*Previous experience and/or cultural competency working with the African American community, youth, GLBT and/or MSM, a plus
*Position available January 1st , 2013
*Training will be provided
*Primarily 8am-4:30pm, with some evenings and weekends as needed.
